Mary McGee has always led by example when it comes to setting benchmarks for women and racing, starting with sports cars in the ‘50s. Thanks to Steve McQueen, she tried motorcycle road racing, then BAJA desert racing and became the first woman to finish the BAJA 1000 in ’68, and first woman to solo the BAJA 500 in ’75. She also raced MX and has received many awards for leading the way for more racing women.
