At 18, Russ built and raced his first bike. Moving to California in '64, he got into the SoCal racing scene. His modified CB750 set records, and opened RC Engineering. In '73 he built a revolutionary three-engine bike, making history with a 7-second quarter-mile run. A crash in '76 led to the Sorcerer featuring dual Honda 1000's, achieving a record 7.30, 199.55-mph run. Collins raced motorcycles and then Top Fuel drags till the early '90s.
