He started his pro racing career on dirt track, but quickly moved to road racing where he was a magician at overcoming the deficiencies of slower equipment, he won the Daytona 200 twice on a Harley-Davidson KR750 flathead. He won the last National road race for Harley Davidson. He was a multi-Land Speed Record holder, as chronicled in the Movie “On Any Sunday”. He was gone way to soon. Godspeed, Cal.
