Ray started racing scramble, flat track and drag racing in Michigan, moved to California in 1959 to race. Worked at Kolbe cycles in the early sixties, then he joined with Ken Watkins to start Sonicweld frame. In 1968 , Ray started Trackmaster racing frames. Ray moved to Canada and Walt Mahony took over Trackmaster. Mid 1970's Ray worked with Kennedy wheel to develop the Staracer frame. Early nineties,he restarted Trackmaster, until his passing.
