Born August 29, 1961, in LA, California. My first race was on a Suzuki TM125 at Saddleback Park in 1976. Since then, I've raced a lot more MX, the Baja 1000, National Enduros & Hare Scrambles, ISDE Qualifiers. I started at Cycle News in 1984 as "the off-road guy" and became editor in 2015. Hobbies include flying (got my pilot's license in 1990) and triathlon. Competed (and finished) my first Ironman in 2021 (age 61).
