Donnie “Holeshot “ Hansen quickly made a name for himself, winning numerous amateur and pro national titles. Donnie was named Rookie of the Year in 1979, and he was picked up by Factory Team Honda in 1980. He was a member of the winning ’81 Motocross des Nations Championship team – the first ever win for the U.S. In 1982, he won both the AMA Supercross & National Championships.
