Terry tried racing speedway and flat track before focusing on motocross. Dealers and accessory firms worked to improve many of the new race bikes. Terry worked for several major aftermarket firms, including Webco, Bel-Ray and S&W shocks. Terry helped provide real-world suspension development for these firms, plus R&D Racing, due to the need for high quality long travel parts, fluids and components.
