A smooth-riding, soft-spoken competitor, Gennai ranks as one of Northern California’s top flat track stars with legendary showings at dirt tracks like Fremont, Hayward, Lodi, Santa Rosa, San Jose and Oakdale. John was named AMA Novice Rider of the year in 1972 and, as a Junior riding Tony Denius' Triumph, Gennai set the Ascot half-mile overall track record at 22.03. He scored four AMA Grand National podiums at Ascot and Astrodome as an expert.
