Entered the motorcycle and powersports industry in 1982 working for Cycle News West. Transitioned to Dirt Rider Magazine late in 1983 and worked there for 27 years. Started working with Hi-Torque Publications Dirt Bike and Dirt Wheels. Switched to Electric Bike Action for 2 years before taking over Dirt Wheels Magazine in 2006. Married Carol Kramer in 1986. Two daughters Tina Kramer and Casey Thomas. Casey works with Karel at Dirt Wheels.
