On of the first CZ Sponsored riders in the US, riding out of Mid-Valley (CZ) Cycles in Van Nuys, CA in . A career highlight was defeating future world champ Brad Lackey for the win at the Snake River Motocross in 1972 (when he was 16), riding a similarly prepared CZ 125 for his share of the $25,000 purse – biggest purse ever for an MX race that point. He would go on to be sponsored by Ossa and Can-Am.
